Arc'Antique Laboratory

Arc'Antique’s missions meet the strategic guidelines set out by Grand Patrimoine de Loire-Atlantique:

     - Play a major role in the preservation and restoration of heritage through the study, care and restoration of objects of archaeological and patrimonial importance.

     - Generate new knowledge through research so as to better understand and treat different materials.

     - Train future professionals in heritage preservation by welcoming interns and through lectures and classes within the context of certain courses and degree programmes.

     - Inform and share knowledge and expertise with other professionals (seminars, publications, etc.), and with diverse audiences at conferences, or as part of the Journées du Patrimoine (Heritage Days) or Fête de la Science (Science Festival) events.

Arc’Antique consists of 12 individuals with complementary skills and educational backgrounds, allowing a greater versatility in the unit’s range of capacities and interventions. All of its curators and restorers hold the necessary credentials and are therefore entitled to work on and with public collections.
