Grand Patrimoine is a key partner of Nantes' Digital Week

During Nantes Digital Week 2015, Grand Patrimoine de Loire-Atlantique was on hand to present our latest cutting-edge work in 3D digital scanning and modelling.


A chance to get up close and personal with a 3D reproduction of Anne of Brittany's heart reliquary (part of the 'Exploring the collections' exhibition), and to discover and discuss the latest techniques in photo-digitization!

Three activities were organised throughout this week dedicated to digital culture, focusing on applied technology for museums and heritage agencies:

  • Aguided tour of the exhibition "Exploring the Collections" exclusively for Digital Week participants, led by Laure Barthet, Director of Grand Patrimoine, and Michel Roux, Director of Digital Development at Grand Patrimoine. A chance to enjoy the exhibition with expert insights from Laure Barthet and the designer of the3D application immortalising Anne of Brittany's heart reliquary!

    Guided tour on 23rd September, 10:00 at the Musée Dobrée Limited places available, please book ahead:

  • An experimental initiative developed in partnership with Orange, which allows you to handle life-like models of Anne of Brittany's heart reliquary!

    Located in the entrance hall of the Hôtel du Département de Loire-Atlantique, 3 Quai Ceineray, Nantes. Open Monday - Friday, 9:00 - 17:30.
    • A conference organised by the Arc'Antique team at Grand Patrimoine, unlocking the secrets ofphoto-digitization for archaeological and historical applications. The presentation will include a demonstration of 3D scanning and printing, giving participants a first-hand glimpse of the revolutionary potential of this technology for heritage conservation.
